"You can't make old friends"

I'm not sure who to attribute the quote but I'm always reminded of it when I get to gather with great people whom I haven't seen in a while.

We just pick up where we left off, sharing stories, laughter, food, and even local wine. It's great to know that after just a few hours even new acquaintances become old friends.

The lockdown of 2020 may have been pretty miserable for most people, but it sure gave us a reality check of how much we need community. I know I savor group gatherings more than before. I find time with others sweeter and more joy-filled. At least the pandemic was good for something.
